Purchase Bewilderment

“Sell your cleverness and purchase bewilderment.”

— Rumi

This quote means a lot to me. It basically tells us to stop thinking we know everything and instead remember to be in awe of the grandeur and awesomeness that is nature and humanity. I feel like this quote also reminds me of something a leader in the field of psychology told me about what he felt was good leadership, “Talk less and listen more.” This basically means don’t try to always show others how much you know by being clever and talking so damn much. This only serves our own EGO because we are not confident in ourselves for whatever reason.

Bewilderment and being in awe is a feeling that can not be described. It is simply amazing. There is so much to be in awe about throughout your day. Try to stop feeling that you are so clever and instead purchase awe and bewilderment and tell me that you don’t have an awesome day and feel at least a little better after doing this for a while.

This quote was also the inspiration for my earlier post Being Right or Being Kind. For some reason every time I think of this quote, I feel more at calm and inspired. If you do too, then please comment below and let me know what you think of this quote or if you have a different understanding of it than me.

God Bless. Namaste.
