Breathing is a powerful contributing factor of our physical state. When we are stressed, we often take short shallow breaths where our shoulders rise and fall. Our chest may feel like a weight is bearing down on it making it difficult to breathe. When our body becomes restricted like this our thoughts and actions are affected too. Our concentration and focus become clouded and we are often quick to react, which then later results in regret or recourse. Continue reading

1.) Exercise without music.
Exercising with headphones is supposed to keep you motivated and positive about your workout correct? While I definitely do not disagree with this, I do think that it takes away from training yourself to be more in the present moment. Nobody disagrees that being mindful and in the present moment helps release stress, reduces anxiety, and also reduces depression, however, many people still struggle to see all the little tiny ways in which we are purposefully not being mindful.
People were created to work together and love each other. To help each other. To care for each other. Things were created to be used. The problem I see in the world is that things are being loved and cared for, while people are being used and abused. Continue reading
